Amar (Aamir Khan) and Prem (Salman Khan), two middle-class boys want to become rich overnight. While Amar is the son of an honest barber in Bombay, Prem is the son of a hard-working tailor in Bhopal. Both the boys sell off their fathers' shop and house respectively and travel to a hill station where a beautiful, wealthy heiress Raveena (Raveena Tondon) has arrived from London with the intention of getting married to a virtuous Indian boy. She is accompanied by her secretary and confidante Karishma (Karisma Kapoor). The lucky man to wed Raveena wil inherit her multi-millionnaire father Ram Gopal Bajaj's (Paresh Rawal) entire fortune.
